The perfect strings, are different for each bass. Closest are EB Cobalt flats, or DR Pure blues. Runner up is Labella LTFs

The perfect strings...have you found yours?

I did AFTER years of trying everything from Black Diamond to T-I's: Nickel-wounds work best for me, and as I prefer to use strings that are very widely available, either XL's, Fender nickel 7250's, or Boomers work just fine for me. I wasted far too much time and money for far too little perceived difference to my ears trying all those different strings.
NO such I believe. However D'Addario and Ernie Ball are inexpensive and generally sound good. They are perfect to me because they are usually available, reliable and sound good.
Because I have a 36 inch scale bass, Fodera would be the string company for me that I could find all string types I need for my 34 to 36 inch basses (cost and availability not factored in although they are actually not that expensive ). TI has them too but cost more and not as available (for 36 inch) than the Fpdera. Fodera last a while too and do not get dull even if you don't clean the strings religiously.

D’Addario Nickel Wound EXL170.
Why? Because there are reliable, consistent, and easily found at virtually any music shop. Never liked Ernie Ball Slinkys; GHS Boomers are okay, but I always come back to the tried and true D’Addarios.
Odd as it may sound; I like installing different strings every time I change them. I like occasional the change of feeling / sound, gives a fresh feeling and makes me play a little different. What doesn't change is: 40-100'ish RoundWounds.
Yep, DR LoRiders 45-105 (50-110 for D-tuning).
I like the stiffness and the fact that they die slowly and gracefully. Old ones on a P-bass sounds great!

I really dig DRs lately. I had a set of Fat Beams and now use Lo riders. Both of these sound phenomenal and last sooooo long. But really any broken in stainless steel rounds work well for me.
I tried a 6-string set for the first time two days ago. I was delighted by the sound but the low b lost its zing in half an hour. So disappointed.
After many expensive experiments, I have settled on Sadowsky Black Label Nickels in 45 - 105 for my Stingray. My standard tuning Stingray has Hybrid Slinky's in the same gauge. I have no plans to change either.
How I miss those coloured silks! I did find a small music shop selling them in England. Got his last 2 sets. Sadly, while they looked amazing... they didn't sound or feel great. The protective bag had deteriorated a little and I think sitting in a musty basement for 10+ years killed them off...
I'm a .45-.105 guy. The NYXL's are just brilliant. I tried so many strings when I was younger and always came back to D'Addario for sound/feel/length of life. If I'm skint I'll buy standard XL's but the NYXL's are noticeably nicer to my ears. DR Lo Riders were nice, but too expensive in the UK now.

I've been pretty much using Pyramid strings since I started playing a hair over 30 years ago (and I'm not even 13 yet!!!!). there's absolutely no difference between the actual Pyramid set and the Hofner branded ones, unlike some companies that will outsource their strings, but to their own spec.
Not only do I use their regular flat wounds, I'll use their black nylon strings, too. then I'll use various versions of their strings on my six-string guitars, too (including their monel and pure nickel strings)

+1 on Elixir nanos. The tone might a little vanilla, but having the same set on for months and months is just so convenient (and cheap!). Plus they’re the best B strings I’ve found.
I’ve had my current set on for 4 months, and thought they were finally going a little dull. But then realised that one of my kids had turned my tone knob down! Back up full, there’s that zing. I guess they will see in 2021 after all.

Dean Markley Blue Steel Custom Light 102, best feeling and sounding set of strings I've ever used. They're getting increasingly difficult to come by in the last few years though. Sometimes they have silks, sometimes they don't.
The perfect strings...have you found yours?
i voted "no" --- but i have found strings that work 'better than the rest', most of the time, on most instruments.
- roto 66 medium light gauge (for decades).
- TI jass rounds (for years).
i use other strings on some instruments without issues.
- DR black beauties
- DR neon
disclosure: i'm not looking for a "perfect" string: there are no perfect strings. just strings that work better than others, sometimes.
