The perfect strings...have you found yours?

These were my favorites since about 1979. However, since theses are no longer available, had to find alternative Roundcore strings.
On rounds tension between strings matters to me hugely. I need 45 65 85 105. Hate the 45-100/50-105 sets. Never feel right to me
For a 5 string, Kalium balanced nickels. For a 4 string, La Bella Jamerson flats
Elixirs for everyday playing and practicing. They might not be as flavorful out of the pack, but they keep that tone for months instead of days....
DR Sunbeams for Recording. Yes, they die quickly, but they sure do sound fantastic when they are fresh.

Dadarrio Pro Steels. 45-100 for my short scales. Doing a 34" P build (my first full scale in years) and gonna try the 50-105 Pro Steel.

DR Lo Riders (ss) were my choice over two decades, and they remain the perfect roundwounds for my needs. But these days it's a different climate, and I'm into La Bella Low Tension Flats. They sort of emulate the formula of the great-sounding TI Jazz Flats, but being just a little stiffer suit me even better, plus they cost less.

Used to be D’Addario Prism until they quit making them, now Kalium. Even if Prisms were still around, would still choose Kalium.
Dunlop nickels and T.I flats. Problem is my current build will have to have chromes as it’s a reverse tele headstock and T.I.’s won’t fit ( E & A string ). I tried chromes years ago on my old geddy and I did like the feel so fingers crossed. Setup is prefect on my SB 14 and it came with slinky’s and I’m not changing them unless one breaks.I use to change my strings a lot and used DR’s as I liked the “long necks” with taper core for my 35” scale but have moved back to 34” four strings only now.
Labellas for flats.
For rounds, I was on DR Lo Riders for years but switched to Curt Mangans for a while. Unfortunately their short scales aren’t quite short or heavy enough so I’ve since switched to Stringjoys which are really great. Haven’t tried them on long scale yet though.

The best nickel strings. Man I wish they still made them.
