Great band. If they ever did regroup, somebody would die. They don't especially get along, right?

Sting owes his love of reggae to Stewart Copeland. Stu had to work with him at first before he got the hang of that type of rhythm.

If Copeland's quirky songs are favourites try to search his Klark Kent stuff. He made on 10" LP and a couple of songs and also plays all the instruments. "Too Kool To Kalypso" is my favourite.

"The Bed's too Big without you" is a good example.

It's the best example IMO. As has been said there are a bunch of reggae influenced songs. In addition to the ones listed is "I Can't Stand Losing You".

The Police have influenced my music sensibilities and writing style more than anybody else. Never got to see them live though...just Sting, which is not the same.

I saw them in a small theater on the Zenyatta Mondatta tour. Great show. Tons of energy. Also cought them in a huge arena on the Ghost In The Machine tour. Still fun, but not nearly the cohesion of the trio-only live band of a couple years before.
