I was referring to a certain Time Magazine cover... Can't post it here though.
In movie crowd scenes, the extras are told to say the word rutabaga repeatedly. A large group of people saying it sounds like multiple conversations and makes good crowd noise sounds.

As a German I can not understand, why UK and US forums avoid "top political items" ...
In my German musician / bass / car forum we discuss about something which happened last night.
The German car forum ( VW up! ) even doesn't have a "political corner"!
NO, I will not say a political word!!!
I just wonder about other cultures ...

It has nothing to do with culture. One man owns and runs this forum and it's his choice what is and isn't okay to talk about. He says no to politics so no politics.

Things can get heated/stupid/vulgar quickly in some cases. I've been a mod on a forum where this occurred. In can be interesting, but then the !@#$@# hits the fan.

Being a world wide forum (as my post proves) even this bass forum may be bigger than the biggest German musician forum. So, it is much harder to moderate!
We can only post political items if we posted a number of musician posts before (troll / bot avoiding).
And "most of us" want to stay in the (musician) forum.

Besides "something that the voters brought in" in America ...
It's 27th anniversary of the fall of the "iron wall" this evening!
In the evening of 09th November 1989 the Berlin Wall opened and thousands of GDR inhabitants flodded West Berlin. I think the destroying of the wall already began that night (civilians with hamers they brought from home).
Thank you France, UK, but first of all Russia and the United States for letting Germans reunite!

I'm glad this site doesn't allow politics, I need to check the Facebook to figure out what's going on this Sunday and I'm not looking forward to it.
