When I was a lad, living out in the middle of barely-charted rural nowhere in a pre-GPS era, we left the Xmas lights strung up on the front porch year round. It made finding the place a LOT easier for guests, especially in the summer. "Drive out highway so-and-so for x number of miles, turn down the road on the other side of the third mountain, look for the house with Xmas lights on the front porch."...it will probably turn into April like the house lights.
