Yes, butter or just adding more fat in general. My friend the cook would throw whole sticks of butter into dishes.
And I remember a clip of Bordain dousing a steak in olive oil AND turning it on on its edge to rend the fat, which he then soaked up with the beef steak.
It's all fun until someone gets an artery blocked

I saw that episode. Bourdain was a bit of a fave of mine. Just irreverent enough ...

Yup, it is a little hard to watch those episodes again knowing of his demise. Love those shows.
Bourdain often commented on his use of Lipitor. 'You can either go on this stuff or you can give up cheese.'
You would have thought that he would have died due to a health related illness... Cigarettes, drinking, clogged arteries... couldn't get the job done that way.

I did not know that he was taking Lipitor.

All the 'statins' have had psychiatric adverse effects reported in post marketing surveillance, including cognitive impairment, anxiety, and depression. Based on my own reading of the scientific literature, I believe that the incidence of these adverse events is much greater than is reported.
