Sorry. Several people have commented I resemble somebody on the Big Bang Theory. I dont have a TV, but I watched a few clips on YouTube and kind of have the idea.

If you google "van de Waals to diamonds", there is an excellent pdf of a recent paper with info on methane to diamonds.

this dating game is getting me down. each new prospect just makes me feel anew the stinging loss of Mrs. Claus.
Still can't believe she was taken from me. Too soon. God, I loved her. I would give all the ice-diamonds on Saturn to see her again

Speaking of random, if you were to randomly pick a number on the real number line, the chances are almost 100% that it would be irrational, slightly less than it would be transcendental.

Of course, the problem with this is picking a random number that cannot be expressed directly as a number would be challenging.

Which implies the real number line may be akin to the rings of Saturn, mostly space with a few rational numbers here and there.

Let me meditate on the transcendental numbers.

On Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus, it rains hailstones made of diamonds near the core. Uranus is suspected to have icebergs made of diamond.

I don't know about Uranus, but for me, I worry about Klingons.

So diamonds are almost forever.

Diamonds are forever, but cubic zirconium will outlast her.

We were exploring the concept that transcendentals were not points, but gaps, on the real number line. So the number line was mostly nothing with an infinity of rationals and non trans irrationals splattered on it.

This idea was not received well.

I do not consider myself a 'braniac'; I am just burdened by the need to think about things. It has served me well in the knowledge economy. As we like to say "For some people, thinking is work".

I think a lot about things, too. When I tell them to my wife, she often says "Honey, you can never repeat that! It goes in the book.". Having a patient wife is a blessing when you are on the spectrum.

Someday, I am going to be a very famous posthumous author. People will commission statues of me, just so they can deface them.
