i thought this thread would be about the useless 'turbo' buttons found on old PC's.

Those were acctually pretty useful. When you had program that PC was too fast for you could slow it down.

when i was a kid, i thought they were just gimmicks. i didn't actually realise that they did anything other than change a number on the LCD display.

wow, i forgot about that one. for some reason i find the website to be hilarious. Give me money or I will eat my pet. That's good marketing, he won't be getting any of my money but I sleep well knowing that after having that little guy for awhile there's no way he's going to do anything to it.

I have one of those. The computer on the other side of the computer room. It's a 386 DX, running DOS and Windows 3.1. It has a 4x CD player, a 3-1/4 drive, and a 5-1/2 drive. It still has the original version of X-Wing on it. I love that computer.

It's like those buttons on stoplights. You can press them all you want, but I don't think they do anything but calm the impatient (while the really impatient just step into the street).
