Bubinga is just a variety of rosewood. 4003s have been spec'ed for rosewood for a long time so at any point RIC could have used another rosewood and been okay to do so. Now they have ditched bubinga for caribbean rosewood.

That bass isnt even abused , just breaking in-that P you have is another story-you should take a photo of both together, they probably both have enough miles on them to circle the globe a few times.

Commonly known as African Rosewood but is not a rosewood.
Bubinga, a wood that to some people resembles rosewood is a member of the Leguminosae family and found mainly in equatorial Africa. Primarily a wetland wood, bubinga thrives in swamps, inundated forests and near rivers and lakes.
Their bubinga was a Dalbergia as I recall. I made the same argument you have once on the RIC forum and John Hall corrected me.

Well you got me there. And agreed on the 50s and 60s models. However the 458 Italia does look amazing.
