My guess is a modified 4000, the knob placement looks right for that, and the toggle is non-original.
It's got walnut wings on the headstock, though, so it could be pretty early (late 1960s or very early 1970s?).

Those Vs look fantastic in solid colours (not that I don't like the FG and MG examples, mind you, I do)!
My favorite was a Midnight Blue one posted for sale a couple of years ago on the RicResource forum.
What a beauty!

Even Seafoam looks good, and I don't like that colour at all!
I still don't know if I could play around the horseshoe forever, though.

here's a clip of Stanley Clarke on a black Rick 4000. i used to go to their concerts in the early/mid seventies and saw him playing an EB3, but never saw him playing a Rick. still learning something everyday.

/horse shoe has to go on my Rics, don't worry they are safely tucked away in the case. Gig with it ? Naw my band hates Rics lol Besides I want to keep it minty.

Say, I have one as well. It's a 2005. My bridge has lifted about 1/4"

How's yours doing? Any lift and if so by how much? I'm assuming you keep it tuned and play it on occassion.

So far mine seems fine, one of the few basses I kept the stock strings on. Usually when I get a bass I slap a set of Roto's on it.

Btw have you seen my Thunderbird bridges ? Might be something you could use, mounts on the original hardware with no modification.
