Hello. This is a club based around the basses made buy the Guitar Center/Musician's Friend house brand rogue. They're good basses in my opinion, some of the parts are garbage, but if your in the market for a mod bass or a cheap starter, they're okay. I own two. The VB100 LH violin bass, and the LX200B LH metal style pj bass. I'll post pictures later because the pj is at home and the violin bass is in the shop. I would love to see collections or modifications or whatever. Post a picture, and I'll give you a number.

I agree and I have 2 as well. Rogue vb100 violin bass from 2008 and a 205 b/ pj from 2010. Both bought new at Musicians Friend. Ive been a 4 string player since 1968 so the Rouge5 was fun but spacing too tight, I put a new nut and bridge on it and converted it to 4 stringer, then awhile later a buddy painted it pshycadellic ( sorry I dnt know if spelled right ?) Being a Beatles freak I wanted the violin and its very playable. Later got a Hofner Icon with flats and I love it but the Rouge is just as good and a bit sturdier ! If you google pshycadellic painted rogue bass it comes up and shows my bass among others. Ill try to post some pics later. These basses are more than decent as is especially for the price and if you know how to set up and tweak em youre good to go. Thanks!

Tapewound Rogue 2.jpg This is the only Rogue I have; an older, MIK VB-100. I bought it... about 15 years ago, now; shortly after I discovered that my old, "used" '78 P-Bass was now a high dollar, "Vintage" bass... It's body construction is more like a Danelectro than a Hofner, so it sounds a little different from newer ones - it's a little heavier, too. But, strung with a set of Roto TruBass 88 tape wounds, it's the cat's ass, as far as I'm concerned. It's one of 2 basses that sit next to my amp, for easy playing. and, it gets played a lot...

I was at the last live Beatle Show at Candlestick Park. Started playing bass in about '65. I bought a new Hofner 500/1 in '66 and a used in '70. Those have been gone a while. P and Jazz and Gibson EB-1. Married and 2 kids later, I've had a couple of early VB100's with black sides and maple top and back and they were ok. Then I saw that MF had changed to curly maple top, back and sides. Much better construction, the same 3/16 thickness everywhere in the body. This is a great bass! I've had an LX205 and an LX405 Pro, and all have superb instruments at a reasonable price. I studied the VB100 and the Hofner Ignition Beatle Bass. In my opinion, the VB100 was built much better. I installed teacup knobs, a German bridge and Pearl tuner knobs from Stewmac. I'm now 71 and don't play out anymore. I have a Hofner Ignition Club and am finally considering selling the VB100. If interested please send me a message.

I have a Rogue-related question, maybe you guys can help!

My first bass was Rogue LX200(I think, not sure!) that I got for Christmas '97. I loved that bass but eventually outgrew it and replaced it with a MIM P-bass that I still play. The Rogue got raided for parts (I took the tuners off) and forgotten.

Until a few months ago when I found it in my parents attic. I need a project and fixing this bad boy up is just the ticket. I'm thinking that decent tuners and maybe some new pups, maybe even a new paint job?!?

Only problem is the nut fell out at some point in the past few decades and I can't find a pre-cut replacement that's the right size. Is there a source for rogue parts? I've never cut a nut before but seems daunting. I believe the width is 1 5/8th inch but I'll have to double check.

What case are the Rogue VB100 owners using? Does it fit into a Hofner hardcase?

Anyone still hanging out here? I see the Rogue SX100b with the single P pickup on sale new at GC for $69.00 and free shipping. Two questions: what's the nut width and is it a neck diver? Thought it might be a fun project bass.

Hello, In addition to many "nicer" more expensive basses I also have a couple Rogues. A fretless which to me is perfect and I will post the mod pics here. I have had so much fun playing theses basses, in practice and on gigs. I should be a low number in Steinberger Club but never got a number? I would be a proud Rogue club member if that's a thing here. Thanks, grabbed another Rogue at the pawn shop today and thought I'd check the forum.
