I would like to join this club but can't yet. However, I have my eye on a used EBMM Silhouette and may bid on it. I have been seriously GAS-ing for one of those.

With a scale length of 29 5/8" the Silhouette Bass Guitar would likely prove to be a better bass GUITAR than a BASS guitar, although it appears to be a fine instrument.

Well when a guy makes a business out of selling Korean/Chinese copies of popular designs at heavily discounted prices, you have to make SOME sacrifices to avoid getting sued. Either pay for a licensed shape and consequently pass those costs on to the customer, or modify it. The guitar you are using for headstock reference is about $150...I guess anyone that really doesn't like the headstock will go out and spend at least 3 times as much on something else...or buy a new neck...it is a bolt-on after all.
Seems like kind of a punitive thing to worry about if it turns out to be a good guitar/value. I'm not incredibly wild on the Schecter Hellcat VI headstock either...too metal looking for me...but what do you expect for something 1/5 the cost...it also doesn't have a tremolo or single coils or a strangle switch...but at this point I'm not ready to pay the hard price on a Fender...so I'll take what I can get. If the Agile VI is a closer approximation to what I want than the Schecter then that will be good enough for me.
If you want a Genuine Fender headstock, your only options are going custom or...buying Fender. I think most of the target audience of the Agile/SX brands of guitars are buying those guitars because they don't want to spend the premiums demanded by Fender/custom builds. I mean even though you can make a USACG Bass VI for quite a bit less than a Fender...a decent build is still going to set you back at least 2.5-3 times the projected cost of the Agile VI...and even USACG doesn't sell exact Fender headstocks.
And if it is a big deal to some people, after V1.0 is released Kurt will be taking suggestions for V2.0... But before we get ahead of ourselves...the design/features of the Agile VI should all be treated as speculation until he actually puts preorders up... For all we know he could be doing designs like they have for the Agile Intrepid 8 strings...
Well I will most likely buy one no matter what headstock is on there but considering that most people GAS over the original VI it would be nice if it looked as close as legally possibly to it. But that being said I hope the Agile VI has the body shape of the SJM because it looks Fender inspired but clearly is not one.

It's pretty much everything the Bass VI is, it was created for one of the Stones (Ronnie Wood, I think) to use live instead of a Bass VI. Either him, or Joe Perry to use instead of his Bass VI on "Back in the Saddle Again". But it is pretty much just as much a bass as the Bass VI is...
Just wanted to let you know that I ordered a set of replacement strings directly from Schecter for my Hellcat VI.
Arrived yesterday. They said it would ship in 6-8 weeks but it arrived in one. What came was a set of generic strings, .025 to .095 in plain black & white wrappers in a regular clear, plastic string container. The set was stapled together. Says Made in USA Electric Bass String. No hint as to brand name. When I called Schecter a few weeks ago to ask they shipped with they said they used SIT strings. But, there was a tag packed with the instrument which said they used D'Addario. So, who knows.

IMO the best (and sanely priced) currently available Bass VI-type instrument is the Schecter Hellcat VI. It's what I'd get if I had to replace my MIJ Fender VI today. It has most of the Fender's design assets minus most of its debits.
And now that custom-made flatwounds for Bass VI-type instruments can be had from Picato (e-mail them) at reasonable prices...
And for anyone who is interested in getting one of these...

I hesitated to order the Schecter set due to the projected ship time...seemed ridiculous to me. Plus I have a Musician's Friend Outlet by me so its not like I can't go out and pick up some Fender Bass VI strings if I had to... I initially had my Hellcat set up with the Fender set, but now use the GHS set (available at juststrings.com) after a long hassle due to them being lazy and putting long scale strings in there... (Which apparently was a wide-spread problem as when I asked them about it they couldn't even find a set in their inventory that was correct...so they had to go back to manufacturing on it) I like the GHS set better than the Fender...very bright sound if you like that. My Hellcat had a D'Addario tag on it too when I bought it, but I didn't really use that first set very much. I would buy .25-.95 Bass VI strings from D'Addario if they sold them...
The Agile headstock is boring but not offensive; I wouldn't mind something closer to the Fender style, but I doubt they're going to create a new headstock just for a niche guitar.
(The Hellcat headstock is the only thing I don't like about its looks, but I can live with it.)
OTOH, if it has the body shape of the SJM, my interest will be zero.
