The Shuttle 9 Effects Loop Issue

Hm odd, speakons are self-cleaning when you twist to lock and unlock. If I were you I would unscrew the collars on your speakon cables and make sure the screws holding the wires have not loosened and in need of a snugging up. A little preventive measure goes a long way. :)
Did that. Was definitely NOT the cables. In fact, that's how I got to the jacks on the cab. I was getting the failure with every cable I had and said wait a minute... That led me to the cab. Situation solved.

I agree; this was the LAST thing that occurred to me. Learn something new every day.

I should also mention for anyone else running into this issue: be careful with the Speakon jacks. Do NOT use a Q-tip on them. The solvent is sufficient. I tried the Q-tip and immediately hung it up on the flexible connection fingers inside the barrel. It was picking fly crap out of pepper to get all the fibers out. Do not make the same mistake.

Really good point, Q-tips in the wrong or inexperienced hands can lead to stray cotton fibres that cause more problems than they solve (I have a lot of experience with these and recording equipment like tape machines) I've seen collars of cotton wound around capstans and pinch rollers and transports from over eager newbie engineers ... Eek !
