Not much discussion here about Season 4 of Discovery, but for me it has almost completely lost its way. It's all over the place and nothing makes much sense. They're flailing around.
Did you know the USS Discovery has flammable gas piped around the bridge and there are now gas fireplaces in the crew lounges? I'm assuming the fireplaces are real and not holographic because when the ship is in action and sustaining heavy damage, gaseous fireballs shoot out of the walls and "pipes" on the bridge. Yet nobody acknowledges them or says something sensible like "We need a fire control team up here!" Just lots of gaseous fireballs.
And we just learned that the Discovery has *no* wiring of any kind. Stamets is explaining an electrical surge that knocked Book on his backside. He likens it to fried wiring, but then adds "If wiring were still being used". OK, no wiring whatsoever on a vessel as complicated as the Discovery.
Tilly is gone (I forget why). Much time is spent with Gray and Tadira, like that's a very high priority to the writers.
And yet, I still watch in spite of one disappointing episode after another.
