Word. Any audible difference between these with the large film caps and the prior revision?

How about on the UA's with the large film caps vs the prior revision?

Not that I have any issue whatsoever with the UA's & More's I currently have (they're amazing!) ....But 1% better is 1% better, ya know?

The UA has got a great EQ & the saturation is lovely.

If you need a DI, run the BDDI after it. If you don't need the DI, I'd personally replace it with the UA.

More, easily. Either at very start of chain or right before the BDDI. It just makes everything More better!

I would say the new versions with the film caps are comparable to the older "handwired" versions of things, which also used large film caps. The difference in a live mix might not be night-and-day, but you'll certainly hear it in isolation, in recordings, or in IEMs. I would say it's noticeably better, otherwise it wouldn't justify the price bump (not to mention a considerable amount of time and money developing the new design), but it doesn't make the previous version completely obsolete because that was never the goal.

Oh one more change I forgot to mention on More, there had been enough comments about it sounding like it had a built-in HPF that I decided to open up the frequency response on the low end a bit. It doesn't get boomy by any means, but it's a little richer on the lows than it was before.

Maybe he could make some phantom power blocker gizmos if there was a market for them.

It would cost me $5.50 to buy all the bits to make one in a 1590A box if I got the bits from Tayda. (Including the box)
I don't understand how they can charge $50 or more for one in the shops.

I actually have a phantom power blocking circuit built into my upcoming PortaStomp; it should be easy enough to rip that section out into it's own xlt-to-xlr PCB+custom tiny 3dprinted box; I'll add it to my list

Hey, sorry if this has been answered before. I just got my first Sushibox pedal (Dreamcatcher), loved it and, naturally, went looking for the next Sushibox to add to my board and found my way into the archived designs. Do those ever make a comeback? The Glass Butterfly looks incredible!

They pretty much never make a comeback, if they're archived then they're gone. The Glass Butterfly was pretty cool, but it didn't sell very well and it gave me other ideas of how I could do a similar thing better, so I had no regrets in pulling it.

So I just jumped and looked at the Sushi Box and C2CE store like you do when reading these forums and I finally realized it can be a little bit hard to see the difference between the "Add To Cart" and the "Read More" little grey boxes.
At a quick glance you can not tell if something is available for sale or not.
Most probably just my old eyes but I think a slighter green shade to the gray box that says "Add To Cart" would make it easier to spot.

Dropped an email through to ask, but hoping for another batch of Neptunium’s soon. I have a Noble Pre on my main board and have started building a smaller ‘fly-board’ version of it, so this seems like a no-brainer!

The Dreamcatcher is my #1 preamp. The glass butterfly is an amazing pedal....by far the best multi-mod implementation out there IMHO, but I won't be selling mine. They come up FS rarely. There's an even older non-tube version Nathan dubbed Robot Butterfly in a smaller size.

What features do you seek? If you want a DI, you're limited to Finally, Neptunium or Venus Z. Like the idea of 2 switchable preamp tube channels each with its' own eq....>>>> Dreamcatcher or Detective. Want the simplest, smallest footprint & lowest cost point of entry to tweakable tube tone....then UA or Elementary. More is really a clean boost with no eq, bells or whistles and very subtle (not gonna do much in a live mix other than boost). I disagree with that as your 1st sushi. It's more of a specialized/niche thing IME. After doing a blind comparison with it at UNITY VOLUME I sold mine. Want active eq without need for overdrive.....Venus Z or Neptunium. They all sound great.

My only note, Neptunium uses a passive EQ. Active EQ in tube preamps is unfortunately uncommon (because it's difficult to do in a way that works well) and Venus Z is the only thing I make that has it.

I'll probably put up preorders once I get parts in hand so I have at least a rough idea of how long it will take to get things built.

I'm having some issues with my newsletter since I haven't used it in ages, but trying to get it set back up so I can send mass emails again.

EDIT: apparently in attempting to fix the mailing list I've broken my website. I am not a web developer, but I'm working with someone smarter than me to try to get it back up.
