The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

I am happy report that I was finally able to test the Underground Accelerator in a live fire situation with guitar and drums, with 2 other musicians with discriminating ears and it passed with 6 thumbs up! We all agreed that the UA made a definite positive impact on tone with both of my test basses in a variety of styles and settings. We tested the UA set for unity gain and me switching it in and out during parts of songs. Test basses were my Carvin LB50 Koa and Peavey Unity LTD with Seymour Duncan PJ pickups speaker was an Alto TSL215 with no EQ (essentially a 500 watt studio monitor).

It's true, and I came really close to making that decision, no more finish options, you get what you get. But I couldn't do it :P I look at the variety of different options people choose every month, I look at how excited people get about it, and I look at how many times I get told "no rush," and I made the decision to keep with my current working speed and keep the current level of customization. I don't plan on adding more finish options, but I don't plan on taking any away. Yes it slows things down, but it's part of what makes it special.

One thing I am doing though, it doesn't take much more time to make 45 pedals than 40, so I do a couple extra here and there so I have some "on-hand" pedals. I want to start building up more stock for people that don't care what the pedal looks like and just wants it fast, then those who want more customization and are okay waiting still have their choices.

I totally respect your making that decision and holding to that for your regular ordering cycles.
OTOH I absolutely love the Candy Red & Candy Blue laser etched boxes I have from you as well as the chromed mirror finished box you have shown. I would love to see those as limited editions like the turret board boxes you plan to occasionally do.

BTW The Echosaurus is finally a delay pedal I can actually use live, loved putting it thru the paces yesterday.

Was the chrome just fussy to apply, was that it? I can't remember why I decided not to make that a standard option :P

Stock builds, with stock finishes would speed things up, you could still allow custom builds and/or finishes for an up-charge and delivery delay.

@Sushi Box FX I have a sentimental fondness for chromed boxes,* that was the finish that my dear departed friend chose for all his AusTone Electronics effects, his were not chrome but polished aluminum done by a motorcycle shop here in town that also drilled the boxes iirc.

I understand some of the " I want it now " sentiment but let's all remember how lucky we are to have the Senor doing as many builds as he does every month at his second job no less . The custom finishes are often really beautiful designs with great colors to boot and would be a shame if they disappeared in the quest for "speedy delivery ' . There's no need to stress the Senor out any about how fast he delivers these beauties . You order one month - you receive the next . No waiting up at all hours in the hope you catch the exact ' drop time ' for an unannounced quantity of magic pedals - seems like a fine solution to many issues to me ! ... Hell - eventually I may even get one of my own !!!!! ... lol .... Kelly

Yeah, I love this idea. I mean, I don't get me wrong, I usually order pedals on the first batch, but down the road this makes perfect sense. Anything to get pedals more quickly!!!

I had the opposite yesterday. My SB pedals were at the local post office. Out for delivery today, allegedly.
