The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

A rat with a tube clean blend?
Mr. Box, I found out about your machinations when I bought a second hand PA.
The sect-like cult behavior in this here thread has convinced me that I will like the UA even more, so I ordered that in the October Batch. Right after I made this decision you start building the one preamp I was aching to get my grubby fingers on forever, only yours fits on a pedalboard and is affordable, which is on order for November.
Please stop coming up with something I would like for each new build cycle!

Might the Sashimi and King Nothing benefit as well?
Maybe? Sashimi has a reasonable frequency response, King Nothing really wasn't designed for bass at all and I don't recommend it for bass. There are things that could make it more suited for bass, but there will always be drives that would sound better for bass than a guitar drive forced into bass. Alas neither of them have a spare tube stage, so adding a clean blend would either mean adding a tube and increasing size, or using a FET for the clean side.

Just thinking out loud and being a pest. One good idea is pretty good for me anyway. I'll just go away now.

The level switch does affect both outputs.

October is the first month Smoke Signal has been open for ordering, Ken just got the first one because he let me borrow the original Meatsmoke I looked at on the design. The level switch does affect both outputs.

I've been meaning to make a demo, but it's a matter of spare time which I don't have. Sure, I could do some cruddy phone recordings, but that wouldn't do the Smoke Signal any justice

Still needs knobs, but got a bunch of assembly work done tonight. 18 pedals have been completed and tested, 16 to go. My goal is to have everything for October finished up this weekend.

It's a good thing I don't live any closer to CME, I would probably have a lot more gear and a lot less money. I went in today but made sure to do it on my lunch break so I had motivation to get back to work instead of spending all day there :P

You can spend all day in there, I know from experience.

We were supposed to be in Chicago this week, but y'all weren't letting Canadians into the country until it was too late. CME was on the list of places to visit, and the lady friend was even on board. Maybe next year.

Dang, that's unfortunate. The government must have missed my note requesting that bassists be exempt, sorry about that. I still do the vast majority of my gear shopping online, but as far as brick-and-mortar stores go, CME is exceptional. Great layout, excellent selection, fair prices, friendly atmosphere in the store.

Not affiliated. Yet. I've thought about talking to them though.

Wow that’s exciting! Have two gigs Halloween weekend, maybe my UG Accelerator will get here in time!

You should go grab a sandberg
I was there selling some gear and there was a gorgeous Sandberg right by the "sell your gear" counter. I was mighty tempted. But the goal in going was to come home with less instruments and more money :p down the road I could see myself getting rid of the two basses I have now and getting one really nice one, and CME would be a great place to shop.

I sold off a handful as a result of getting my sandberg. Gonna sell a few more to get another and reduce the number of arrows in the quiver. They're that good.

It looked amazing, I'm not super familiar and the name on the headstock is small so I had to get closer to check it out. Pretty sure it's going to haunt my dreams now.

Anyone want to buy my other basses so I can justify getting a Sandberg? :P
