Hello! I just got my Particle Accelerator... And it sounds fantastic! What is the difference between the Particle Accelerator and the X version? This is version 3.1View attachment 4447501

Thanks the biggest (and pretty much only) difference is that the original version (3.1 is the latest version of the original) uses a Soviet 6N21B miniature tube, whereas the X version uses a full-size 12AX7 tube. The 6N21B has a great sound, but they're harder for me to purchase and harder to work with in general, including more likely to go microphonic, so I made the decision several months ago to transition completely over to full-size tubes. I will still support the mini-tube pedals if anything goes wrong, but I don't build with them anymore.

When I compared the two the sound was very close, the PA has a bit more defined lows and focus that I prefer for recording. I'm using an Underground Accelerator on my live board for just a bit more warmth.
You should know he does not do the candy metallic finishes any more. I have an Echosaurus in Candy Blue.

So when I ordered parts for the Finally prototype I ordered Switchcraft XLR jacks because that was what was available, so that's what is pictured on the site. Well now I found a good bulk deal on Amphenol jacks, which is what I really wanted, so that's what everything will come with. The mounting is a little different, but they feel really good, and I'm excited about them.

That's how and why I bought it, too.

I tried to figure out the knobs by myself, which was harder than I suspected. I had gain and volume pretty quick,
and Bass/middle/treble was kind of obvious from the knob layout - but that 'presence' was giving me a headache. Might be because I play a bass heavy sound and use a passive bass with flats - that knob does nothing much in my setup.

Not yet, it's been on my to-do list for a bit. Along with Ambassador, Finally, and probably something else I'm forgetting.

I actually prefer my 6N21B Dr. Wattson to the bigger version I had. For some reason the smaller one sounds better to me.

just checked my order, i got the white full color with black knobs. If that's not mine I at least know what it'll look like now.

I haven't been back in the basement yet today, but I think there was only one white Smoke Signal this month. Three full color/raw, two matte black, one full color/white.

So I don't normally put stickers on pedals, but

• I wanted a way to easily differentiate Jensen units from Lightning Boy units
• The stickers should come off easily without residue
• The stickers look super sharp
• I'm still stoked as hell to be working with @lightningboy iron in these

As much as I love the raw/simple enclosures, that white one is pure class.
