The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Doesn't matter what pedal it is, white with simple graphics looks classy.

Also note to self: those knobs are absurdly close together. Someone should look into that, there has to be something that can be done.

I agree with the take some time off crowd! But I also don’t have dough to placer December order so you know :-) I am definitely going to be in on the January orders though…

The white looks so good! What’s with the little flecks of paint in the white though — love that.

It's a weird one, nothing is visible while coating, I clean the booth out between colors so no mixing, but sometimes the whites turn out with little red spots. And they always seem to be red. I'm wondering if some red got mixed in with my white powder somehow. Not a bad look, but not really sure what causes it or how to stop it.

Dont fix it! I like it

Holy crappe, is that going to somebody I know? That looks fantastic. I’m gonna send you the ginger cookie recipe! Take December off!

Alright, a couple quick notes before I continue to forget:
  1. I made a mistake on Finally. Fortunately it isn't a circuit mistake, everything works perfectly, but I made an artwork mistake. The labels on the DRY PASS/PRE OUT switch are swapped. This would take the average musician about 3 seconds to figure out, but I wanted to let people know so it isn't a surprise. Additionally every Finally order has a printed note inside the box explaining this, because my boss has been telling me that "there's no such thing as over-communication." I apologize for this inconvenience, and if you'd like to shout at me please PM me and I'll give you my skype info so you can shout at me. This will be fixed in all releases that follow, but I didn't catch it until all the assembly was done and I was doing final testing, so the amount of time it would take to fix that many enclosures (10 Finallys this month) would cause a serious delay in shipping. Seriously if this is a legitimate bother to you please let me know and we can figure something out.
  2. Apparently USPS has suspended First Class and Priority mail to Australia, so I have a couple packages for this month that haven't gone out. I will be reaching out to the affected individuals via email, but me and @Sonicblaze should probably talk about a way to take care of this on the website so it can be addressed earlier in the process. Apparently Priority Express mail is still going to Australia, but that's an extra $50 on average, and that puts it about the same price as UPS for international. Fedex and DHL are both absurdly expensive (over $100 shipping for a single pedal) to that part of the world.
  3. When I get shipping labels through the new website I have to click a box during checkout in order for you to get an email notifying you of the shipment, and sometimes I forget to do that, so if you have an order in the October batch and don't live in Australia but didn't receive a shipping notification, you can log into your account on the website and the shipping info should show up there. If you don't see it, let me know and I'll get it for you.
Thank you all for being awesome and giving me the opportunity to build all this stuff for you, and as always don't hesitate to reach out with comments and/or questions.

And now I'm going to bed.

So, what you’re saying is, the October batch is done?!?

I'm leaning toward not building anything in December and taking the month off. To be determined though.

Come December, I'll be the proud owner of four Sushi Box FX pedals, so I can easily lean back, enjoy my Sushi Boxes and tell Mr. Box to take the month off.
Here's a suggestion, though:
Maybe every once in a while you feel like building something. A one-off. A special color - or something like the Fluffy Kittens. A X-mas edition of a pedal, resurrect something or invent something new.
I'm pretty sure, whatever you offer up for instant sale will be gone in a minute.

Yup. They're all in the back of my car and will be dropped off at the post office on my way home from work.

Does this mean the photo on the website for Finally is also incorrect? The photos I've seen you post here recently w/Finally's all have same the same labels as the one on your website.
That's correct, and that picture will be changed as soon as I get a fixed one made (hopefully in a week or so). The way the labels are currently is how it was originally designed in the first prototype, but I did that switch wrong in the first prototype and inadvertently flipped it around in the design when I fixed it and didn't realize it during my prototype testing.

Got it. That is unfortunate. Thanks again for your transparency throughout - it's one of the myriad reasons I continue to support your creativity.

You shoulda PMd that to him mate, no need to stink up the thread. Anyway, bully for you * thumbs up*
It's fine, I appreciate all responses and I don't think he said anything rude or overly critical. It's definitely something I've been working on but that I absolutely do need to work on more. I struggle a lot trying to balance "I'M SO EXCITED I WANT TO RELEASE THIS RIGHT NOW" with "I should really thoroughly check over the design before ordering, thoroughly test the initial prototype, thoroughly inspect everything during enclosure finishing, and probably have external testing before a final release." I'm impatient and I rush things a lot, I absolutely need to be better at that and I apologize. I will always try to make things right, but I should still work harder at stopping these things from happening in the future.

Nathan , I've got, as you know, an OG SH that is waaaaaaay loud, I know the score, and I didn't say he was rude, just not my style of doing things like that and Ill exercise my free-ish speech here to say so.

Got it. That is unfortunate. I won't speak for anyone else here, and I won't tell you how to run your business, but this definitely makes me feel less inclined to support "1.0" pedals of yours anymore. Three of the last many I've bought from you have nearly immediately had issues/quirks sorted after their release (WH volt knob/switch, SH volume attenuation, Finally switch labels). What I'm buying instead is a beta or prototype pedal that is being sorted out "in market" - but I'm not paying for that, I'm paying for a 1.0. None of these pedals are saving anyone's life so one could argue a label mismatch isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it comes down to quality assurance and robustness of the product released. I personally would much rather have a longer prototype/dev period before release - to ensure these kind of kinks get worked out beforehand - than to continually buy a pedal that has to get returned for fixes or kept w/quirks.

Thanks again for your transparency throughout - it's one of the myriad reasons I continue to support your creativity.
The above is also why I still, kinda support the (original design models at least) brand, but the copy/paste really has me on the fence

This isn't anything he (Nathan) isn't aware off, PMs have been made in the past to the point of being redundant. I completely agree with B, I've been buying pedals here from the beginning of this thread, and atlas none of them populate my board anymore because of this exact reason, again PMs have been made I assure you.

@Sushi Box FX Maybe recall how much a pain its is to fix the issue before running with the "I'M SO EXCITED I WANT TO RELEASE THIS RIGHT NOW" attitude gets the best of you, but no one here is stupid, everyone including the maker knows how to facilitate this correctly, its execution that's a lacking imho

Don't care mate, I was talking to the OP of the comment and then Nathan, not you. You seem to have a habit of jumping into my discussions with others. Please stop.
