I was just wondering when people were going to start getting their november builds, I figured it should be any day now, there are only a couple that haven't been shipped yet and everyone whose hasn't been shipped knows about it and knows why (one waiting for the right color knobs, one waiting for a special request, and one ordered 5 pedals and I just haven't finished assembling the fifth).

Tracking number updated to a rather nondescript message of "Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility" with no expected delivery date. Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings!

The worst part is doing demos for Robot Butterfly effects isn't even hard, I just need to sit down and do it. I'll tell you what, I'll put it on my to-do list for the next week or so. I'm working on the revised Deep Dish layout and getting the December builds kicked off, but I should be able to spare a couple hours to do some more demos.

Honestly I don't use many effects on bass, but as a (sometimes) guitarist I LOVE the arpeggiator. The patch came from the EQD Arpanoid (which also uses the FV-1) and sound awesome. I think Tape Delay, Shimmer Verb, Arpeggiator, and Dual Pitch Shift are my personal favorites.

Well, you work hard enough as it is, I wouldn't be able to get one until Q2 next year anyway so please don't put yourself out for this.

I’m sure that, on its way to Canada, my new toy will drop into a black hole of non-information for at least a week. Kinda depends on whether customs wants to play ping pong with it on the way. 10-21 days is a typical window.

Glad you said that, because I've already arranged to outsource the demos @Sonicblaze has the means to program the chip that I use on Robot Butterfly and I already have a package going out to him soon (hopefully tomorrow), so I'm sending him a soldered up Robot Butterfly circuit board with no enclosure and I'm going to email him the files, then he'll flash them onto the chip and record some demos for each of the effects I have offered.

I can confirm the Particle Accelerator adds serious Mojo JoJo to the top end when a bass is assaulted with a plectrum.

I don't play with a pick much, but am trying to get my skills past a 2yo's level. Working on Yes - Roundabout meant cranking the gain and cranking the highs, and the pick gave the PA much to work with. It was dirty. Awwww yeah.

I completely forgot about that, I was going to try to make time to do another demo Probably best to wait for @kranahan to get his Echosaurus for a bass demo.

On a wildly unrelated note, so far every single circuit board I've made for a pedal has been 2 layers, and that's been enough to get things done. Well Deep Dish is going to be 4 layers, there's no way I can do it with 2. The price of the circuit boards will double, but because I'm losing a tube I should still be able to keep the price at $300 like I wanted it. This design gives me a lot more flexibility for tweaking, so this is still just a prototype that I have to dial in to figure out where I want it, but it will be a lot easier to do so.

I have all the parts placed on the board where I want them, now I just need to connect everything. That's going to take a bit of time.

Pro tip for all you instagram influencers out there: use a long camera shutter to make your 6N21B tubes look like they're on fire. There are zero LEDs in this picture, just the "nightscape" mode on my phone's camera.

Speaking of power! It's probably not great that on my big board, ~6 pedals all blink repeatedly 8-10 times before settling into the on state... and I think it might be due to the PA drawing enough extra current during warmup that it overwhelms the Pro CS12 for a moment. Might be time to add a second unit underneath... or at least run separate juice for the PA for now. That's what I get for running a 12-pedal board heh

That would absolutely do it. I've seen that happen when I ran 4 preamps (total of 6 tubes) on the same 1Spot, the LEDs flashed about once per second until the tubes started to heat up and power stabilized.

It's a little scary as I can't help thinking something in the brick's about to melt while that extra current is being pulled! I checked my numbers and am maxing around 1800mA on a brick rated at 3000mA, so there's nothing to worry about there.

But I tried moving the connector to a different output (a 500mA one instead of a 100mA one ) and it seems to have taken care of the issue, at first test. Supposedly the CS12 doesn't have to obey its posted current limits, but maybe the internal layout of separate banks in the brick does have some bearing.

Might be good info for those of us who run this supply. I'd be terrified of running even one more tube pedal on this now though heh

Update: 2nd test failed! The pedals blinked about 6 times now. Maybe I'll do the separate One Spot for the PA after all....

One reason that I like the Cioks DC7 is that it tells you how much of its capacity that your using.

+1 for the DC7 (plus C4 extension). Such a solid piece of kit.
