In Texas 100 miles is less than a day trip or daily drive for many. I used to make a 80 mile drive 5 days a week for work. Mom in Temple is 65 miles each way, the beach in Galveston is 226 miles or Corpus Christi 227. It is over that to reach the next state Lake Charles, La. 317 miles is nearest other directions even as much as 565 to El Paso. We are planning a trips including into Mexico that is 743 miles each way and Big Bend 424 miles. Hence the new car.
In my professional musician days [often doubling as designated driver] 200 to 500 mile drives were very common. I more than once too cross American trips NY or Philadelphia to LA for gigs. I can't say I miss literally living out of '71 Plymouth Fury II, but that beastly tank of a car got it done. It was better once my pied-de-terre was a 77 Chevy Beauville 20.
My Dad would give me a hard time each year doing my taxes as I often made more for driving than playing bass. But one does what one must.
I used to work with a guy who would finish work early at 4 and then drive down from Leeds, Yorkshire to get an overnight sailing from Dover - wake up and roll off the boat in France then drive through the day to his parents east of Brno in Moravia, Czech Republic - def encouraged us to be more adverorous with our holidays … and then we had kids so this year central Netherlands is as far as we will go, maybe pop into Germany for a day trip
This trip was an unusually long one for us, but my wife's hometown is 6000 miles (not a typo) away, so 1600 miles to see her sister is reasonable. Also her family is a lot cooler than mine, so I'm always happy to hang with them.
Also we took my new (2022) car on its first ever road trip, and things like radar-assisted cruise control and intelligent lane-assist made things considerably easier than my wife's comfortable yet technologically older (2013) car.

The longest Texas drive I know of is from Texline to South Padre Island. It’s a little over 900 miles. A lot of ultramarathon cyclists used to view that as their ultimate adventure. I had one friend that was training for it and I was going to man his chase car, but then he got married…
You can't even drive 900 miles in the UK. John o Groates to Penzance is 827 miles in a crooked line.
We were visiting my uncle in Gloucester and some family from New Zealand were staying in London - “it’s only a 100 miles, we will pop over for a coffee in the morning”
4-5 hours and 100 miles later they arrived looking traumatised in time for a late lunch and ended up staying a night

As a German citizen I'm supposed to think you come over here to use the famous Autobahnen with their lack of speed limits...
(Note: Though there is still no general speed limit, many parts do actually have limits of 120 or 100 km/h.)

I played my first concert with More last night. Interestingly enough, the sound I thought was good in rehearsal ended up being too much More in a live setting. I had it set around 2:00, thinking that more is More. In fact, the sound in this situation (with its hundreds of other variables) was much cleaner at 10:00, so it is also true that less is More. In any case, I can't help but wonder if this is the first More to be played in concert in France? Or are there More?
You could make up the difference using the roundabouts.
Oh for sure. I live on the Western side of Dallas /Fort Worth, an area with a population of around 6.5 million people. If I get in my car on a Monday morning at 8am and drive West for 100 minutes there’s a good chance I will have traveled 100 miles. If I do the same thing going East I might feel fortunate to have traveled 15 or 20 miles.
I can attest to that, as I live on the NE side of the D/FW metroplex.
True there are lots of empty miles in most of Texas but city and town traffic can be brutal, we have several stretches that are among the most dangerous in the world due to urban growth and lack of foresight. I can attest to that as I have driven in many parts of the world, including the UK and most major cities. Often driving a bus or equipment truck or what you call a lorry. Long before Google Maps too.
The control on the MORE sets output volume and it's got a bunch. It should make no difference in the perceived enhancement.
That’s how I run both of mine—set to unity. They work great for me that way.
Anybody got any tips or settings they love for the Red channel on the Dreamcatcher? Having a tough time dialing in grit that I like; want to see what others are doing.

Even with a 12at7 rolled in mine when I had it, it was still pretty hot, but I could set the gain on about 10 o’clock and get a pretty cool border line fuzz. If you barely turn up the gain to about 7-8 o clock it gets a decent hard overdrive. I think it pretty much goes from overdrive to fuzz and just skips distortion altogether
