Like all of you I recently received my first copy of the newsletter. I had no idea this was a thing. I like the idea and hope this sticks around for a while. Was there some kind of discussion behind this and I just missed it or is this a surprise to all? Also, who is behind it? The mods or just somebody particular?

I don't know how to link it so check your e-mail, it is there.

Really? The end of the newsletter is a pitch to buy gold but it doesn't mention anywhere in the letter that it is only for supporting members.

I think it is for everybody.

Here's an excerpt from the "newsletter" (under the juvenile heading of "Douche Hall Of Fame"): "@MicRidley has a classmate using crowdfunding sites to upgrade his band's equipment. Brilliant? Or lame?"

Gee, thanks for taking the time to draw my attention to this, Talkbass. You've clearly mistaken me for a social media-obsessed twelve year-old.

I don't recall opting in or out, but I like it. I enjoyed the highlighted thread from the new member from Argentina who got his first Spector after getting help from TBers.

I guess I assumed it seeing how I didn't receive one. Bad assumption on my part. :whistle:
