the TB mod appreciation thread.

I just wanted to give a quick thank you to paul and the mods (past and present) here at TB for helping keep this place as great as it is and making sure it doesn't turn into another harmony central.:)

you guys have done a great job of keeping this place an enjoyable environment for all ever since i first joined TB in 2003 (i was first registered under the name cwbassist and then later desdinovabass)

I recieved a warning the other day about a tasteless joke i made in a recent thread and as much as i wanted to complain about it, I realized that this place would suck if everyone went around making stupid comments like that.

anyways thanks again, keep up the good work guys! :bassist: :hyper: :bassist:

In the last five years, this site has continued to be almost absolutely unique in the world of internet forums because of our mods.

I have NEVER come across another forum that is so heavily populated, with such a vast pool of knowledge, and so carefully moderated. The closest things I've come to have been websites where you need to pay to even view the threads, let alone post. IMO, TB is exemplary of good moderation.

I'd like to put in particular thanks to Chris Fitzgerald and Damon Rondeau of the DB side in addition to Blackbird, JT, Bob Clayton, SMASH, and Pacman.

PS: I guess paul helps too :P.

And I'm surprised people get so many warnings... After all I only have two so far and I must admit if you guys get this many I should be banned already...

I guess they keep me around for the entertainment value ;)

thanks...

and Oxblood, you can always send your concerns to Paul. Sorry if it was me, but I try to always answer any PMs I get.

It wasn't you :). I PM'd john turner and jazzbo, and neither of them replied (after a month of me sending the PM). So I figured if they didn't reply, it must be ok to do what I wanted to do, so I created a thread to try and get new members for my forums. I wake up the next day and find out its closed by one of the mods I PM'd lol, ah the irony. I don't really care that much to bother Paul about it, but it just really bugs me and I don't think the mods here deserve a thank you, atleast the Off-Topic mods don't. Yeah, im being a little mean, but im also being completely honest.

Sorry to derail this thread, please continue. :)

I'd be willing to be that most mods, like me, just do the job because we love this site.

It sure ain't the money - Paul, how 'bout a raise? I can't live on this!

just do the job because we love this site.

that's why I do it! This is the best site on the interweb!

Oxblood, your forum openly discusses Drugs and such. Being hosted and run from the USA, it's kinda unwritten that discussions of things illegal in this country aren't to be openly discussed (I seem to remember a warez section too).

Plus it's kinda bad taste to solicit users for your forum from Paul's forum.

If you want to advertise your forum, maybe Paul would be the best to contact :)

Yeah, I probably should have contacted Paul instead, but like I said I don't really wanna bother the guy, he probably is extremely busy with this site and other things. I'm not saying it was wrong for him to close my thread, im just saying it would have been nice for either one of them to return my PM, that's all. :)
