The Tubes, Rick Anderson

Then there’s people who dabbled in all sorts of stuff(except smack), possibly doing a few stupid things, and then just finally walking away from all of it(“been there, done that”). Besides myself. I knew plenty of junkies, and the ones who went to rehab and cleaned up didn’t want to hear about the religious angle.
Forgive me if I trod upon your sore foot or picked a scab, I meant that a lot of folk , self included, that imbibed back in those daze who now decline to admit to any involvement due to it being out of fashion or survivors guilt.

What sore foot or scab? I was just pointing out that, in spite of all these cautionary tales of woe or embarrassment that float around, there were plenty of people who indulged and then just moved on, unscathed, without any remorse.

Certainly for most people that was their experience of those times. Others did gather a few bumps, bruises and bitter tears. My comment was for people who are now writing memoirs and such or telling tales on others, like the ones attributed here by Ken Scott, who may not just be holding to the whole truth on their own deeds, if you follow my drift. As one of the revelators and observers some tales may be best taken with a wink and a nod.

Rick Anderson was a good part of the Tubes and their eighties glam schtick. From what I have heard he did play a Fender Jazz Bass with a pick, though something tells me he also used a Fender Precision Bass. I know Steve Lukather used a Fender Precision Bass on Talk To Ya Later.

Rediscovering the Tubes "Completion Backward Principle". Just wondering what Mr. Andersen is playing, sounds like a compressed jazz bass.

RIP Rick "Gator" Anderson.

Rick was playing a Yamaha BB Series for TCBP album. For the other albums it was mostly a White Jazz played with the bridge pickup off. You can see him playing a Precision in some concerts as well.
