The vocals were really bad and the instruments just so-so. The bass was the best part. There comes a time when you have to hang it up and move on, unfortunately. Yes, I hope to be playing into my 70s, but probably not in front of millions of people and getting paid big $$$.
I don't get the "they did good for their age" mentality. I think you have to judge a performance regardless of the musician's age. I'm a big Who fan and have been for most of my 43 years, but I would not pay to see them perform based on the superbowl show.![]()
I've seen Heaven and Hell twice in the last two years. Those guys are just as old as Pete and Roger, and they KILL live (hope Ronnie gets well soon). They would literally blow this version of the Who off the stage. I'm a big fan of the Who as well (and a little older than you), but to me the Who died men Moon died, and went to complete hell when Entwhistle died. Nothing against Pino, but I refuse to see this version of the band and call it the Who. It would be like going to see Kiss with two other guys in Peter and Ace's makeup, which Gene and Paul would never do, right?
