Last fall my 37 year old brother was diagnosed with cancer and given months to live. He lasted exactly a month, leaving behind 4 children.

That's a true candidate for "worst". I am of same age and have kids... I get goosebumps just thinking about your brother
Hope his family pulls trough!
Loosing material stuff seams realy small compared to life and health.
