I had never hear of this guy until a video that Dr. Cheese posted piqued my interest. Turns out he’s got a nice looking site with lesson videos and various subscription offers. From what I’ve see they look great as he really breaks things down slowly, especially some of the musical nuances that are so often over looked. I’m wondering if anyone here is a subscriber and what their thoughts / experiences are.

I think it was that same video that the good Dr. posted. Was cool. Went to his site and all of his interesting content costs, including stuff that he implied was free.
I tried digging around and lost interest. There's just so much good info and stuff to practice out there.

Here’s his YouTube page which has some lessons (albeit relatively short ones with plugs to other material) and a bunch of other videos. I’m going to listen to a few of the podcasts as he’s got some good guests (Adam Neely, Joe Hubbard, Janek Gwizdala).

@vinnydbass I read your review on SBL, thanks for the note. Somehow I find Jaymes stuff more palatable. I like how he breaks things down slowly and in great detail.

ErikP, I recently discovered The Bassist as well and have been enjoying it. I have not signed up or anything, but I have been watching the free stuff on youtube and I agree with you, I really like the way he breaks things down. He is also really communicative - I messaged him a question on insta and he replied quickly and went back and forth with me for a quick convo. His live tracking streams are a lot of fun to watch as well.

I decided to take a chance with his site after a hiatus with lessons and signed up for a quarter (time, not $$$) to give myself ample time to poke around. There is a TON of incredible stuff on the site and the guy is just a ray of light, salt of the earth type of dude….positive, methodical and a monster of a player. I’m running through the material in the order he suggests and just finished the basics and practice sections….on to essential scales tomorrow. I’ll likely update with more thoughts in the future but I’m thoroughly impressed thus far!

Signed up for a membership in November 2025 and cannot access any of the lesson videos..only the Sick Lick videos. Cancelled my membership at the end of February 2026 and emailed support about issue...curious to see if they issue a refund or give me two months for free

@EGrob Ugh, that’s a total bummer…sorry to hear about that. I had positive experiences with support so hopefully they do right by you. Jayme seems pretty active on FB so you may want to message him there if you don’t hear back. Good luck and keep us posted!
