Thee Oh Sees

Oh Thee oh Sees is a great example of great lo-fi, garage rock. They're just kind of out there at times, but I think it's awesome. I love seeing bands like that that are clearly just passionate dudes who want to make real music. No over-bearing producer diluting what they put out. I'm pretty sure I've read before they do everything independently and analogue, or perhaps used to at least. Their original bassist was also actually just a second guitarist with some sort of octave pedal rig I believe.

ok! your perhaps 18 now.....have you gone to see them?? I have seen them 4 or 5 times and they always crush. I'm such a sucker for two drummers. The bassist Tim Hellman is super solid and really holds it down when they go off on tangents. They have a ton of records but I personally think they really jelled from Floating Coffin (their 8th!) onward.......thee Oh Sees led me to listen to King Gizzard and The Lizzard Wizard and Wand.

Anyone like 'em? Or even heard of them? I really enjoy John Dwyer's guitar playing. The only problem is their lyrics are unclear in some (a lot) of their songs

It just so happens that John Dwyer lives up the hill from me.

The last time Osees played in L.A. in front of a full house audience. October 31, 2019.
