So I'm trying to make the decision of buying an esp ltd vintage 204 bass without playing one. It's used but in excellent shape. I'm looking for a p bass with PJ pickups but I need to have a comfortable neck. I'm used to standard Mexican jazz necks which is a modern c with a 1.5 nut. The esp 204 has a 42mm nut which is more like a p bass but it also is a slim U contour. I was told to play a standard fender p bass and that's what the esp neck would more or less feel like. The thing is, is the fender p neck isn't a slim u profile. My question is, is the slim U contour neck a fast action comfortable neck? If I prefer jazz necks, even though this has a thicker nut width, will this neck be for me? Or should I stay way?
