And PDI was working on a movie about ants (originally mechanical ants) for many years also.So were many other companies that never were able to get funded. Pixar is a great company with a great story development process. They are also the subject of many adoring fans' idle gossip. Don't believe everything you hear. History is often rewritten by the box office winners.

I think that many of the things we all take as universally recognized truth turn out to not be true when we look a bit deeper. Reality is a complex thing...
