People crossing the street with any sense of urgency. I use to run when I was crossing the street when I was a kid. Kids now a days take their sweet ass time crossing the street.

Phonautograph - believed to be the world's oldest recording device
What is believed to be the world's oldest recording was made by French inventor Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville when he recorded a young lady, believed by historians to be his daughter, singing "Au Clair de la Lune". The song was captured on a "phonautograph", a device that engraved sound waves onto a sheet of paper blackened by the smoke of an oil lamp. The event took place 17 years before Thomas Edison invented his phonograph.

We still have a few drive-ins in New England, though they broadcast on low power FM frequencies instead of the old boxes. In previous cars, I had sound systems that would rival most home theater set ups today.
When someone posted a picture of Woolworths I immediately thougut of these type of glasses. They used to have the underdog glasses. Those were the days...sigh...
I have a few of these old Tom & Jerry and Dinosaur Welch's Jelly glasses in my cupboard right now.

My cousin had one it was in a cage in his Mom's kitchen for years when I was a tween. It was a one like the one pictured at the bottom of your article.His older brother picked it up down south when he was in the Navy. Never bit anyone but he had some serious fangs going on in his mouth. He died when I was in my mid 20's from second hand smoke! breed was squirrel monkey on the wild live Endanger list. I have great memories of him his name was Joe no pun intended
