The name "burp gun" for the PpSh-41 came from the sound caused by a very high rate of fire (for the period) of 900 rounds per minute. Most other auto weapons of the time were so much slower that the human ear could distinguish individual shots. The burp gun's sound was a nearly continuous sounding rip. That "Bup bup bup" would have been three bursts of 3-5 rounds each. At that time, lots of our dads had been hearing them around the Chosen Reservoir.
For comparison, the Vietnam era minigun had a top rate of 6,000 rounds per minute...sounded like God tearing a sheet of paper. "Right on, Spooky! Get some!"

Whoa! I remember having one of these as a kid! Hold the red button down for red light, yellow for regular white light, if I remember correctly. Brings back memories.

2. If a cop shoots you after seeing this, he/she has real problems.

And, he never left home without his Davy Crockett toothbrush, pocket knives, or guitar. And, he handed out picture cards and bubble gum to all the frontier kids.

As opposed to baseball cards, signature basses (that the artist doesn't always uses), or any number of celebrity endorsed products you see every day. I'm sure Martha Stewart shops at KMart, Walmart, Macys, Michael's Crafts, Staples, Home Depot, and the other stores who carry stuff with her name on it, and uses them all herself.
