During my freshman year, at Whittier College in 1971, I took a scientific glassblowing class. Told Dad what I was taking and he must have had an image of novelty glass blowers at Disneyland. When he’d tell his friends what I was taking at college he would say “Basketweaving.” I didn’t find it funny at the time.
