Saw those orange roofs all over the place growing up in western Pennsylvania, but can honestly say I'd never eaten in one. (That's probably why they closed.

Heh. My Nom d'Pron (Editor/Producer, not participant) back in the day was HoJo... If you've ever watched a pron clip in the 90s with a HoJo Presents! title sequence, in teal & orange no less!.... Thatsa me!

We had a Howard Johnson's Restaurant in the Johnstown, PA area back in the day that was open 24 hours. It was a go to place to eat after band gigs. One time, we were eating there and I asked the waitress if the butter was whipped. She said yes, it was. I asked how many lashes did they give it. I know, I have always been a wise guy.
The location where the Howard Johnson's Restaurant was is now an Eat'n Park Restaurant that used to be open 24 hours until Covid hit.
I guess we'll have to add HoJo's in to this thread. Dang, another American icon gone.

Howard Johnsons was kind of the Dennys of its day, only a little better, more family friendly, and with ice cream
Ate many of those Corn Toastees...didn't realize they were Howard Johnson's brand. I sure liked them when they were available...a nice diversion from PopTarts.
