I had this exact 8 track deck in my '71 Copper colored Nova 350...I loved that car! I even had the Cragar Mags.
(This is not my actual car but looked almost just like it)

Anyway the 8 track was "theft proof" because it locked over the mounting plate that was bolted to the floor.
Some thief popped the wing vent out and took a pry bar to the floor plate. Dang that was a sad day!
The guy eventually got caught...it was a punk neighbor. He had 20 car stereos when they busted him! Insurance didn't cover car stereos back then because so many got stolen.

I had that Eagle 1!!! :woot: That thing was frickin' AWESOME!!!!!!!!

I never had any idea what it cost (since "Santa" brought it to me). According to one place where I just looked it up, $13.66 is about $65.89 in today's money. It clearly went a long way in terms of what it got you, because that thing was at least a couple of feet long, and had lots of details & features inside & out, including a swing-out winch arm & hook for "rescuing" the figures on all those imaginary missions.

Man, that is some good stuff! :hyper:

:D
