Speaking of archaic terms, the other day I mentioned that a certain somebody was "too big for their britches". That got a laugh from the 'youngsters' in my office, you know, the 40-45 yr olds. Damn kids these days...no respect for those old sayings we grew up with. ;)
Ya don't hear "He's all full o' p!$$ and vinegar" much either.

That goes along with a western Pennsylvania word - gutcheez. "I can see your gutcheez!".

Another term for underwear, undergarments, boxers, etc. to describe what mom and grandma wanted to make sure were clean when you left the house, and that no one could see them… They’re called gutcheez. And we have no idea why.

And then there's "draws" - a way of saying "drawers" (another term for underwear), but with a Southern drawl.
 
A Jewish friend of mines mother, who was originally from New York, use the term, and I'm only guessing on the spelling here, GODKAS. I'm wondering if these 2 terms are related.

Better spelled "ghatkas". but yeah.
