Thinking about a P Bass

Hey guys, im fairly new to playing bass. Ive been playing my Ibanez SR400QM, but i played a buddy's P Bass the other day and in thinking about selling or trading mine to get a P Bass. Any suggestions on which one. Im kinda thinking about a Squier CV or maybe a MIM Fender. What do you guys think. This is my current setup.

You do not mention your location, so I don't know if you are 5 miles or 500 miles from a music store. If you are near a store, play a bunch of P basses, and choose one in your price range.

Im about 50 miles from a music store and ive played both, just cant decide between the two

I second this.
I think there are some individual CV's that are better than MIM's...and visa versa.
Play every CV and MIM in the store, even if they have to dig in the back room...then choose the best feeling/sounding one.
And try your best not to confuse a bad set-up with a bad instrument.

Keep your eye out for a decent used MIM P. They are out there, affordable, and readily accept Fender parts if you ever want to change the pickguard, p-ups, etc. Good Luck!!!

Or, if you don't want to have to change stuff, best save some money and get a Squier that doesn't need upgrading.
