My suggestion:
Get a copy of Victor Wooten's Groove Workshop DVD. He deals with rhythm in a conceptually different way, which might be just the key to unlock it for you.
(There's an interesting saying in his book and in this DVD: don't try hard--try easy. From your posts, it sounds as if you've been trying very hard, and it hasn't been working.)
