For a while now I’ve been mulling over reversing the pickup in my CV70’s P (and maybe adding a double j pickup in the bridge). I love the sound I get from the E & A strings. Hard to explain except it makes me go “MMMmm!”. The D & G not so much.
Reading up, it seems reversing the P pickup is supposed to help this. When I look at how much closer the G saddle is to the poles, it seems so obvious. (Pic to crudely show this)
My question is, do you swap places of both halves, or leave the E/A half in place, and simply swap the G/D to be on the neck side?
Also, does anyone have a recommendation for where to source a reverse p pickguard for after it’s done?
