#14, The Foundation: those of us who study and work hard, because we've been lucky to get gigs in a variety of genres (the harder we work, the luckier we get), play a medium-priced bass, possibly with a few mods, and take the time to learn why the equipment and music and players work together, always reliable and always on time for rehearsals and gigs, and willing to help the drummer set up and load out. Not noticable, because the pride is in making the mix out front as good as possible. Will never be singly complimented, but takes pride when someone says the band sounds great. Bass: Ibby mid-line 5-string and up, with USA pickups/electronics.

Only difference is I use a custom built P basses. ( I built them for my specs)

I don't got any--I come the closest to the Rocker & the Blues ones--but still lots of differences.
Maybe there should be a guitar player one (or two--one for someone who plays bass like a guitar player & one who tries not to? or one that just plays bass & doesn't worry if he is playing like a guitar player or not--so sometimes does & sometimes doesn't?)

I didn't really find me on the list. I guess I might be a bit of a 12 and 13 hybrid. Naturally gifted with a feel for the bass line. I can easily play and sing at the same time with different vocal and bass phrasing. I like quality but not necessarily expensive gear. And I prefer being solid but not especially flashy. And my meter has always been appreciated in the dozens of bands I've worked with. I'm 66 and was working steadily before the bars shut down yet I'm still being recruited by two other bands, one country and one indie/rock/country/Texana.
