This amazing thrombone-like bass sound!

Guys what stuff do you think the bassist use to attain this sound? Any idea?

Sounds pretty clean to me. Maybe some compression, sounds like it might be a bass with the bridge pickup louder than the neck pickup.

I was expecting something more like this. Rolling down the neck pickup doesn't quite get me there i'm afraid.

But, if you really wish to obtain a simili trombone / tuba / saxo - in analog mode -, the fuzz Basic Audio Zippy is a good answer to your quest.

Agree with the above. Sounds like a set of bright flats (Chromes or similar) on a fretted bass played up nearer the bridge with a clean amp setting. Pattern is I-VI-IV (F-D-B). The player does a very quick half step slide up (or maybe a hammer-on) into the F and sort of swoops into the next notes to give it a hint of that "trombone" sound as you describe it.

Nothing fancy needed. You can do it all with just your hands.
