I just bought a TBC AP-500 from TB'er that I'm expecting next week, and I'm stoked. The very next day, I see an older USA made TBC SR5 at www.lowdownsound.com. Last night, Quadzilla posts his two pup USA TBC for sale on the forum. I'm happy I got that Ap-500 from Moro, but dang, these sweet USA TBCs are just popping out of the woodwork!

Who felt like everything started showing up once you committed to a purchase?

BTW, I in no way regret committing for the AP-500, I just can't believe two other models of relatively rare brand popped up as soon as I bought one.

Happened to me last month. I bought a Fender Jaguar, and then a week later, Reverend Rumblefish #90 shows up on eBay. The Jaguar now lives in Pittsburgh..

Here's another great USA TBC! This one is really killer. It looks like a SR5, but with 19mm string spacing! This is something Ernie Ball should offer themselves.

Happens to me all the time! I've been through 5 basses in the last 3 months. I've gone through 3 complete rig changes in the past 6 months.

3 basses in a week, took a couple weeks off, bought a new CIJ neck for one, and BAM, a blank plank pbass neck attached to a jazz body with Dimarzio's came along and that's all she wrote.

During the time when I played MM Sterlings, I was looking for a fretless, preferably a Sterling Fretless. I saw a very nice MTD Kingston Fretless on Ebay and I bought that. The next day, the MTD hadn't even shipped yet and I see an older MM Sterling Fretless with a BEM neck. I immediately bought it and sold the MTD as soon as it came in.

It's the oposite for me usually. I must have bad luck. I'll be researching a bass or amp, and there will be a sea of them floating around, but once I'm ready to buy, I can't find a single one. (currently a MTD 535 with wenge neck and FB...used)

From the thread title I was half expecting a picture of a guy cowerning in a courner being attacked by a vicious CIJ 75 reissue. Maybe I watch to many Sam Rammi movies.

When I was buying my last bass it was a toss up between the MM SUB and the Warwick $$. The shop only had $$ 4ers in when I was looking and I asked when they were likely to have some more $$ 5ers in and I was told "dunno mate. Couple of days, couple of months, couldn't say". I thought, well, I'll give it a week.

I went back the next week, still no $$ 5ers and only 1 SUB 5. I snapped up the SUB (with which I am still very happy) and went on my merry way. Another week on and I went back in to get a set of strings to replace the stock strings that the SUB comes with and BAM, 4 glossy, new $$ 5ers just hanging there.

It happens man.

Yep. Shopping for a Rumblefish, I bought a Fender P-Special and missed the sunburst Dirnt that still haunts my dreams.

I recently sold my Schecter Scorpion because I realized soon after I received it that it wasn't really my kind of bass.

Before I'd originally received it, the shop I bought it from had acquired a left-handed Schecter Model-T - the bass I had REALLY wanted at the time! By the time the Scorpion arrived at my door, the Model-T was sold.

If anyone understands how rare GOOD left-handed basses are... you can feel my pain

Mysticboo, I'm not a lefty, but I'm pretty big. I know how it is when it is hard to find things that really fit you.


That great TBC Stingray with the wide string spacing looks so, so perfect! (How many times have I said that before? )
I may have to unload some stuff for that bass. Watch out, there may be a Peavey fire sale on TB!

I guess if I get that TBC, a TBC SR5 HH will popup!
