Yeah, I've heard this before. You can't quite place the song, because it's reminiscent of a classic from way back, but it's just a riff on In a Gada Da Vida. There is no doubt in my mind that's a Fender Jazz bass with double roto-wound stainless/nichrome strings. The discerning ear can tell it started life passive, and he's modded it to active and he's actually running it at 27 volts. Don't hear that everyday. I ain't braggin', you just gotta have the ear to discern this stuff. Call it a gift.
