Very cool bass, I like the red a lot!

I use d'addario Chromes....and the silks always ride up on the saddles, so the nuts keep the silks off the saddles for pure notes!
And...kudos for noticing that.....

I remember Rotosound packing little brass washers in their strings for that same reason at one time.

The company I work for owns the property. We repaint two 80' foot vessels every year at the same pier....so a bass body not a problem!.

Painting a bass body is really nothing compared to painting two vessels

I've been to England three times over the past 5 years prior to this pandemic. Watching "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the Regent Park in 2016 was an once-in-a-lifetime experience. The bass player just killed it!

I purchased two American Performer Jazz basses recently. The first was a copper (penny) maple board jazz bass. It was on sale and local, so off it went in the boot and home with me (Boot...England remember....trunk).

After topping up your tank with petrol on the way home, did you consider tossing the APJ through the fanlight of your residence? I am absolutely gobsmacked by the quality of your work. I could not have done nearly so well.

I've got a friend re-doing my Oly White poly P to Fiesta Red nitro from Gracey's Vintage Finishes, Toledo Ohio. He's also finished the Mighty Mite licensed neck with vintage tint and flamed it too. Tuners changed to vintage 60's reverse and all other hardware aged. Going to also add small amounts of finish checking but no heavy relic. So far it's coming along nicely.
