Double Bass This looked interesting from NAMM...

its probably going to be very disproportionatly priced. i've seen some Markbass amps for electric basses and the heads range from 500-2500, and the cabs from 700 (practice amp) to around 1500 for an 8x10. although it is a good concept, it is far too expensive for most bassists already owning instruments into the 500,000+ range. IMO
I already have this amp (old edition). It's amazing, BUT the two channels are very different and ultimately the top channel (XLR) with reduced EQ etc is a bit pants...I really wanted to use it for doubling gigs but can't...I was hoping they might release the new one with two of the same channels.
It's a good amp tho if you want to use two double bass inputs or use a mic to sing thru along with an instrument. NOT good though for a double bass and an electric bass.

I gotta wonder though- how good can something so small be?
What could the bass response on this be and how well can you hear such a small cabinet (6 in speaker) while standing?
Intriguing though. Possibly perfect for those gigs where you barely use a much more capable amp.
Could be the thing when you want transparency- given it could do a mic and pick-up.

First off, it's meant for two double bass inputs: one mic and one pick-up, not for a DB and BG. It's not meant to be a doubler amp.
Secondly, it's got a 12" driver in it, not a 6". IIRC, the video corroborates both of these facts.
Anyone hanging out on this side of the bass fence would likely know that small cabinets can put out a good amount of volume (as long as you're not aiming for stadium rock). Many DBers are looking for 12's or even smaller.
Looks pretty interesting to me, but I'll bet it'll cost quite a few bucks when it's available!

Checked your user profile, says you own a Walter Woods. For me at least, that kinda speaks to how good something that small be, when combined with a 12" driver.

Sorry for my confusion....and the inadvertant redundant post. When I initially replied- I was prompted to reauthenticate as if my session timed out and when I did the post was listed twice...not my intention.
I guess I spaced out as the brief camera pan of the 601 is caught my intrest.

Didn't mean to come off as slaming Markbass or small cabints. I'm sure the 12 in is very capable. My couriosity was in the 601. Anyone ever have a chance to check one of these out as a amp for DB (not as a doubler).
