I found this in the middle of a string shop bio.. Here at ______ ______ Strings, our main factory is located on the North Eastern side of China, which has the same Longitude as Cremona, Italy, and the most suitable weather for violin making. Interesting connection.
Works for me. (Although climate is more complicated than that. The biggest difference is that one is land-locked and one is definitely not.)
The reason this is important is that they actually hand-carve their strings from book-matched pieces of curly maple. Best damn strings I've ever played. ...and really beautiful with hand-rubbed varnish finishes!
