this question turned out longer than expected..

hey just a question i thought this useful forum may have an answer for!

i may soon be the owner of an ampeg svt 2 pro amp head

i currently have one svt 410hlf can and one PR 410hlf cab. im planning on selling the PR 410 and buying an svt 410HE to pair with the svt 410 hlf.

my question is.. if i run the svt 410 hlf(4 ohms) and the 410 HE(8 ohms) coming to a total of 2.667 ohms together in a series to the svt 2 pro head would it be best to run the amp head at 2 ohms.. 4 ohms.. or have the 410 hlf rewired to 8 ohms and run the amp at 4 ohms?

thank you!!

I don't know if I (personally, for my needs) would rewire the 4 ohm cab for 8 ohm because then you would have two 8 ohm cabs and would have to always run both. If you had two 4 ohms cabs, then you could bring one cab for rehearsals and places where 2 4x10 cabs would be overkill.
