Double Bass Thomann Basses

I am looking for bass and i don't have a large budget,I have heard mixed reviews about all different Thomann basses and was wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge of them ? I have head from a few people that the Czech made basses are Strunals and i am leaning towards one of those. Also hows the factory set up on the Thomann's ?
The Thomman Hillbilly bass caught my eye and does anyone know anything about these?

The Thomann 1,2,3,4,5 are Czech basses, the Thomann 11,22,33,44 are Romanian. Some of the laminates are Chinese and they are also decent instruments. The set up is less than elementary, since you need to deal with the nut, the string height and the soundpost proper placement. Thomann has a fast and safe delivery system and the prices are right, but after the delivery you have to visit your luthier in order to achieve the highest potential of your bass.

Ahh cheers mate :) will bare that in mind if i do buy from Thomann.
This bass they appear to be selling does look very much like the Strunal 50/4; which I think is a great bass, even has the ebony fingerboard. So if they are selling Strunal's this appears to be one of them, not that i have an expert eye at all just an observation.

I'd have to agree with the above.
The bass I bought (2W TN) arrived on a mini-pallet, and was very safely wrapped, etc - (not bad for zero-cost delivery)
The set up was rudimentary, but the quality of the bass is excellent. If you can do nut/bridge work you should be able to avoid the cost of a luthier, as no fingerboard planing etc was necessary. I can't vouch for the other models of course, but if they even approach the 2W ( which is a strunal 5/27) you won't go far wrong. We're not very well-off in the UK for places you can just pop into and try a bass, but I'd say Thomann are the next best thing, because if you hate it they'll change it.

Several of the Thomann basses, including the blonde you mention, are indeed Strunals. I've been talking to both Thomann and Strunal while bass shopping recently, y'see. Some of the others are Romanian - Horas I think. The Hillbilly Hotrod DBR is now a Chinese bass, they had a few made in Europe but changed suppliers when it sold out. The HH blonde is still made in Europe - Thomann say they're Strunal as well.

Sadly they're no use to me as their choice of left handed basses is unsurprisingly massively limited. Ah well. Good luck finding your new bass!
