Double Bass Thomann DB Bohemia by Strunal

I'd like to buy the Bohemia DB by Strunal on the Thomann website.
Any of you have a direct experience with this DB?

Can't comment specifically about the Bohemia, but I've been very happy with my Strunal 5/35 hybrid. Wasn't crazy about the shiny poly finish (took the high gloss down to a more satin matte), but I think lately they've offered some better varnish options. Otherwise a solid and reliable bass. All these years the Strunal 5/8 fully carved double bass represented the top grade instrument in the company's catalog. Now this role belongs to the Bohemia bass, whih features better tonewoods with rich, velvety flames in the back, ribs and neck. I didn't try it so far but the beautiful tonewood reminds me of some Chinese basses, constructed with high grade materials. I would not be surprised to know that the company has procured these instruments in a China workshop as "white basses" and finished them in Luby, the Czech Republic. Next January i plan to visit them so i'll keep you informed.

I live in Finland and I'm interested about these fully carved basses. Might it be possible to order one left handed straight from the factory?

Already have one lefty Strunal hybrid and after some setup and hardware changes I'm super happy with it. A bit thinner neck might suit me better.. I ordered it from Thomann and had to wait five months for it..

I have been using it for jazz and singer&songwriter gigs for 5 years now.

The fully carved flatback bass seems interesting too. However it ain't their top grade basses.. Have you MIKMAN tried one of those?

I intend to buy a new bass 100% wood and visited the Thomann site where I found two offers: a DB 3/4 for 5000 euros and another similar 4/4 by "only" 2500 Euro.

Thomann questioned the reason for the large difference in values (2500 euros) and they said it was because the 4/4 was discontinued.

I ask, someone on this forum can give an opinion on the quality and value of Bohemia and the advantages or disadvantages of acquiring a 4/4 to a 3/4 face, it is very difficult to play the 4/4, ie the difference 2500 euros worth buying or will have more problems and difficulties in play as 4/4 compared to 3/4 that already have one and that fits well ace my steps, for I am a person of average height.

Looking at the pics, there might be some difference in the wood too, contributing to the price difference.

In my mind it is best to play an instrument like that, before you buy it. That will also allow you to assess yourself if the 4/4 size is an issue for you.

I have found that the Thomann Bohemia by Strunal Bass 4/4 is exactly the Strunal 5/7 Antik, the top bass in Strunal's catalog. And as they told to you the 4/4 was discontinued... It was removed from the website after I bought the mine... may be the last one?
I am really happy with it. I think it is a good bass for a very nice price (all included)!
