I just purchased Thomastik-Infeld flats, based on raves about the sound.
I play a Fender Jazz 50th Anniversary, and a Trekker 'Louis Johnson' Fretless.
Which of these basses would be more appropriate to use with the TI's?
What little information I find on these strings suggests they are finicky with regards to instrument setup being critical for best results.
Others say stringing through the body might be unwise and tight bending at the tuner is to be avoided.
Lastly, for a medium duty player (perhaps 2X weekly) how long should I go before replacing.
Please give your recommendations on these questions.
I hope to get improved recording results.
